  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from mochachai -- A MUST for CAH families : personal anecdotes by the author. It doesn't hold back from addressing possible concerning scenarios, but balances those with lots of encouragement and hope. Even after learning so much about CAH by this point, I trust this will help our family navigate through the seasons ahead and will most certainly allow us to better help other CAH families. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Rachel Sexton -- A must read for new CAH parents : As a first time CAH parent, A Handbook for New CAH Families, was exactly that! Unlike the other books and articles about CAH this book gave me the information without the overwhelming medical terminology and excessive data. With such a rare disorder there is not a huge opportunity to sit down and have casual conversations with other CAH parents, but this book allowed me to feel as if I had done just that. I loved reading the experiences of another CAH mom while gaining more knowledge about my child’s diagnosis. A Handbook for New CAH Families helped give me the confidence and knowledge I need to understand my child’s diagnoses and to care for her needs. I have and will continue to recommend this books to other CAH parents and caregivers! ( Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2021 )

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jody M. -- Best First Resource : You need this book if your child/infant was just diagnosed with CAH. It’s an incredibly overwhelming time, but this book gives you everything you need to know right now to start the CAH journey feeling like you have some sort of grip on what’s going on. There are many other things to read and watch later, but I read this book in the first week of my daughter’s diagnosis and then kept it with me at all times initially because it has all the pertinent info I would need to handle tests, medications, ER visits and adrenal crisis if that were to happen. It’s the short-and-sweet, down-and-dirty of everything you need to navigate the first couple months. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2021 )

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from K Bryan -- Must-have item for all CAH families : If you are the parent of a newly-diagnosed baby with CAH, googling everything you can think of to learn about this complex condition, please stop here and purchase this handbook. The early days of a CAH diagnosis are paralyzing for parents. This handbook was written by a CAH parent, for other CAH parents! While there are more comprehensive materials out there, that stuff is too overwhelming in the early months. Read this handbook for a solid understanding, and refer back to it as needed.
